No More Hiding! Let Your Gray Roots Show.

What hurts more?

The catalyst to change is the pain of staying where your at becomes more than the pain that comes from the change itself.

You may deal with the discomfort of stare or negative comment which is temporary compared to sticking with dye to please others which is too exhausting.

If you are nervous to reveal your gray hair to others. That is understandable. When you decide to stop dyeing your hair you are letting your roots be seen. This can leave you feeling exposed or vulnerable. But remember these words from Brene Brown that “Courage starts with showing up and letting yourself be seen.”

Are you afraid of others seeing the gray roots you have? In this video I share some gray hair mindset tips and quotes for your gray hair journey to help you ...

What is FOPO?

I heard this term on a video from Sean Cannell. FOPO means Fear of Other People’s Opinions. We all struggle with this at some point in our life.

This quote was helpful to keep in mind.

“Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive about what could go right.”- Zig Ziglar

Instead of thinking of the worst that can happen which can feed our fear let’s build courage by thinking of all the things that can go right.

Here are some graysful tips.

  • Accept (doesn’t mean you like it) that you will get judgment or others that may not like your hair and tell you. It is a harsh reality to acknowledge that we ALL judge even us. Even though some of us have the sense to not voice those judgments but we ALL have been there. This helps us realize that others have opinions like we all have noses.

  • Let the negative comments be a trigger to practice self-love by remembering your truth. The reasons why stopping the dye works for you. Remember what works for you is what’s best.

  • Graysful truth that you can tolerate the discomfort of others' opinions. You can! I promise!  That is something I learned from this journey which helps so much not just with my hair. In this world we are encouraged to avoid pain at all costs but the better we can cope with the reality of pain we can cope better.
